It's been a busy few days!

Boy have we been busy!

I needed a break from the tarantulas at the Iguana Roost, which luckily coincided with a visit from my cousins Craig & Julie, so off to Belize City we went.

Tarantula:

My logical reaction to it:

God bless my studly husband’s ability to trap the beast, and subsequently take it across the road and beat it with a saucepan. Disaster averted.

We stayed in Belize City long enough to pick up my family and head to the Belize Zoo!

We went inside a cage with this jaguar 'Junior' but can't seem to upload the video. We'll get that up when we can.

The next day (what exact day…I have no idea) we went to Dangriga, reached by the Hummingbird Highway, one of the most beautiful highways I’ve ever seen. Sadly it rained the whole way, but it was still beautiful nonetheless.

Not letting the rain get us down, the next morning we got on a boat for an overnight trip to Reef’s End on Tobacco Caye. It was beautiful, and only rained for about 65% of the day. We were able to get in the ocean twice to snorkel, and saw stingrays and eaglerays.

The next day we headed back to San Ignacio and then went on the ever-popular ATM tour (Actun Tunichil Muknal). It was a day of caving, hiking, freezing water, and mud! With all the rain the paths were all mud. We certainly had fun.

It rained for days!

Another day we went to Big Rock Falls. It was so beautiful! I even jumped off a rock into the water (baby steps, people). Andrew did a few jumps from crazy high.

Eek!
Yesterday before the Superbowl, Andrew and I went out to Xunantunich, the largest local Mayan ruins. It was very amazing and peaceful.

And that's a big head.

We are now in Hopkins, a sleepy Garifuna town in southeastern Belize on the Gulf of Honduras. It is stunning, and the sun is shining again.

Sorry it took so long to update you!
