Casa de Bullock, La Antigua Guatemala

WE have been in La Antigua Guatemala for 5 days now. On Day 2 Penny decided to cook some rice without boiling the tap water first. As a result, we haven't been out to enjoy the region much. :(

Damn Montezuma and his revenge!!!

We have got to enjoy our little palace, so I thought I would give you all the virtual tour.

Here is the entrance way to our place. There are 4 units in the alcove. It's walled in (this whole town is walled in!) and has a 24 hour guard/doorman. It feels very safe. My only complaint is that they aren't exactly soundproof. Wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have a Guatemalan soap opera happening across the alcove! I'm pretty sure there was some plant throwing going on the other day!!

Here is the front room and dining area. You never quite know what you are going to get when you rent something with only seeing it online (see, rent, Belize...) but this was a pretty welcoming sight!

There is a little courtyard with a fountain you can sit at to have breakfast. Took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to get the water to work!

If you notice in the corner, there is a full size fridge. I won't lie, Penny had a little tear in the corner of her eye when she saw that. I was quite taken by the microwave...how I missed a microwave! Around the corner there is a washer dryer, which is both good and bad. We can do our own laundry...it is up to you to figure out if that's the good or the bad!

Upstairs leads to a pretty swanky bathroom and a large loft style bedroom. Unfortunately we have seen WAY too much of this room since the start of our stay

.
Yes, you are seeing right. There is a window from the bath  to the bedroom, so you can see the TV. You all know I am TOTALLY taking advantage of that!

Loft style bedroom is nice in principle, not so nice in reality. The acoustics of the place are quite good...you can hear everything going on downstairs up here. Boo...but it is quite a beautiful view

Told ya!

We hope to actually have some stuff to report soon. We have BIG plans...There's a hike-bike-zipline tour we want to do, a couple of volcano hikes, a cool motorcycle trek...and a super cool golf course you KNOW I am going to get to.

I'd write more, but I need to use the bathroom....
