Goodbye Central America, hello North America!

Hello everyone!

As most of you already know (via Facebook and email), Andrew and I have left Central America. We enjoyed the 9 weeks we were there, but it was time to go. Not speaking the language and missing modern conveniences that we are used to are just a couple of reasons we left. With each passing day the list kept getting longer, so we booked a flight to Orlando, Florida, and have been here for nearly a week. We are having an excellent time!

This kind of holiday is certainly what we do best, and there is still much more fun to come!

Ahh...
I'm taking this as a good sign!

We had a quick stopover in Miami (long enough for me to sing Will Smith's "Welcome to Miami" over and over again. Unfortunately the title words are the only words to the song I know). Luckily for Andrew's ears we soon left for the 30 minute flight to Orlando.

We didn't get a great reception after landing because the rental car we booked AND PAID FOR in advance was denied us. Lesson learned- sometimes a deal can be too good to be true. Don't worry- weren't not done complaining yet, are we www.rentalcars.com? More emails are going to be coming your way. Boo on you!

Luckily our hotel Quality Inn Airport had a shuttle so we got a ride to the hotel, where we stayed for two nights. The first night we got a smokin' deal through Hotwire, so paying full price for the second night was ok. The hotel room was basic but clean and the beds were quite comfortable!

We were tired after a long day of travel but soon enough found a Walmart. They're a dime a dozen here. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty nice to be in a Walmart. Food we recognize in a language we can understand. I thought this was so cute, but Andrew would have none of it:

What's wrong with Darth Vader in bunny ears? It's so cute!

The first day in Orlando we got our shopping on at the outlet malls. I'm starting to think that the outlet malls really aren't what they used to be. Nike, if I wanted to pay $25 for a t-shirt, I'd do that in Canada! Anyway, we bought a few things at the *cough* lululemon outlet store *cough*. Yipee!

That evening we went to City Walk at Universal Studios. We ate at a Brazilian steak house for dinner. Holy meat sweats! Yum....

My, what a lovely lulu shirt you're wearing!

The next day we went to the ESPN Wide World of Sports (part of Disneyworld) to see the Toronto Blue Jays play the Atlanta Braves! This is as close as I've come to seeing an MLB game, so I was pretty excited! The Braves were the 'home' team, and surprisingly there were only about 50 Blue Jays fans there. I thought Florida would be full of people from Ontario!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Chipper Jones! Tall drink of water, that one.. :)
The game we went to was a split squad game, so there were only about 4 players in the game will actually play in the majors. That was too bad, but at least I got to see all those gorgeous baseball buns Chipper Jones.

That evening we checked into our condo where we are booked for a week.

The great times continue, but that's all the goodies for today. I've got to get ready so we can get going!

See you all later!
